Wrath of the Lich King Cometh...
So the expansion is around the corner!! I'm sure all of you have seen the EPIC cinematic that was also released last week - wow!!! Truly amazing work! Nice to see those furry boots again!!
Blizzard also announced the following over the weekend:
With the release of Wrath of the Lich King approaching, we wanted to provide you with some important information. In preparation for the expansion, we will be issuing a new content patch in the coming weeks.
Much like the patch made available shortly before The Burning Crusade's release, this content patch is designed to bridge current game content with that of the expansion and will contain some exciting changes and additions.
We have outlined some of the larger features scheduled to release with the patch below:
New class spells and talents
Stormwind Harbor
Barbershops in capital cities
Zeppelin towers outside of Orgrimmar and Tirisfal Glades
Two brand-new Arenas featuring challenging new layouts, terrain hazards, and moving obstacles Guild calendar
Hunter pet skill revamp
New profession: Inscription
As mentioned above, this is not a comprehensive list, just some of the major highlights. We’ll post the full patch notes as soon as they’re available.
Regarding Inscription, please note that all Burning Crusade players will be able to select Inscription as one of their two professions and level up to a skill level of 375 with it. Upon the release of Wrath of the Lich King, players who purchase and install the expansion will be able to continue leveling in Inscription and the other professions beyond 375.
Well that should put WotLK as a October/November release I predict. Play.com says 4th November so we'll see!
I'm NOT going to be leveling inscription on Firelight, I might do it on my Mage, Edam, but not 100% sure.
It will however be interesting to see how much enchants are going to cost on the AH once people are able to do that - that is providing if they are not able to do so until they reach 450 Inscription...We'll see what Blizzard have decided with regards to that on the day the patch hits.
I'm so eager to see how the new Ret-Paladin will work - not that it is working at the moment...
I was so happy when i saw the first release of the Ret-tree then they got the nerf bat out and starting taking swings at our new tree, breaking things off left right and centre to the point where I'm really worried we're going to be mind-numbingly broken when Wrath hits...to the point where i might just say "ah bugger it, I'm going to level my druid to 80 first!!"
God knows the Balance tree is shaping up pretty nicely at the moment.
This is the inherent problem with having 4 level 70's to choose from...which toon do I pick to go first - i should choose Firelight for obvious reasons as he's my main but I'm also finding my Mage, who's now level 68 and tearing a hole in Shadowmoon Valley as we speak with her instant cast fireballs, a lot of fun!
This is the order i think i will level my 70's:
Firelight - Ret Paladin.
Edam - Arcane/Fire Mage.
Gwindle - Balance Druid.
Starslayer - Demo Warlock.
This way I'll have been out of Outland so long that when i decide to make my Deathknight and start leveling him Outland will new and fresh again! haha! I wish!!
Do you have Multiple 70's? If so who are you planning to level to 80 first!

Quick Hit Rating Question....
Dead.
No more.
Extinct.
So what does that mean? I notice that Rogues and Warriors still have Hit Rating talents in their trees....?
Will we just have to find 142 Hit rating from gear/buffs? (that's if the current caps will still
Or did I miss something with regards to Hit Rating gear in the expansion?
I know Spell Hit and Melee Hit are being rolled into one stat....will this mean gear will cater to our needs?
An interesting question that I hope someone can help me with, because I can't find anything else about it anywhere.

Multiboxing, Mounts and Mothers...
Pretty sweet!! I've only seen one other person with it so far.
All i had to do was buy the game, and then a 2 month Game Card, apply it to the new account and then log back onto my main account and assign the mount to Firelight.
So then I thought I'd look up some instructions of multiboxing and loaded up 2 new Draenai Shamans called Xodar and Xodartoo. This was a lot of fun. Triple XP + 2 people doing the start quests i hit level 8 in under 60 mins. I also tried it with a couple of mages, but it was going to be alot more complicated than leveling 2 Elemental Shaman so they got deleted.
Your 2 toons can do some cool stuff while they're linked - including the ability to summon each other once per hour, the triple XP bonus, and the ability to grant a level up - although I've not managed to do this yet - not sure if its the level 70 main that can grant the noobie some extra levels.. Dont wanna try it in case both toons aren't synced any more! Double Ding FTW!!!
Anyways the guilds progression has been pretty awesome this week:
Wednesday - Cleared Mount Hyjall 5/5
Thursday - Black Temple: Naj'entus, Supremus, Akama, Reliquary of Souls all taken down first time. Bloodboil was taken the next night but no-one progressed to Monther due to a lot of the raid missing the Shadow Res Crafted Gear.
Tonight we're ready for her! We have 2 clear nights of tries on her and if we get lucky the Illidari Council. (Who knows we might even get a shot at Illidan himself!!)
I'm really excited! Me and my 4,000 DKP are ready for our shoulder upgrade!
Wish us luck!

Mid-Year Resolution!
So my weekend was spent trying to grind Darnassus rep on my Human Warrior.
He's 27 now and is just over 50% into revered - having cleared the starting quests in:
Teldrassil -> Darkshore -> Ashenvale. (Night Elf Starting Area)
Azuremyst Isle -> Bloodmyst Isle (Draenai Starting Area)
Elwynn -> Westfall -> Redridge (Human Starting Area)
I started doing the dwarf/Gnome starting area, but I wasn't getting any sympathetic Rep for these quests so I stopped.
I'm going back to Ashenvale to finish the quests off there, but I'm worried about the amount of XP I'm going to make from these quests. Oh thinking about it I've missed out Duskwood and I could also try Loch Modan to see if the 10-20 IF/Gnomer quests give sympathetic quests...
Seems like a good idea - I'll try that! I'm determined reach exalted before I hit 30! So the lower level the quests I do the better.
I find it really hard to understand why the Dwarf/Gnome start area's don't give sympathetic Alliance Rep. Seems odd doesn't it. Maybe it was just because I was revered with all the other factions other than IF/Gnomer....? Seems odd though as I was still getting sympathetic rep with SW/Darn when i was doing Exodar quests even though I was revered with them.
10,500 rep seems a tall order for 3 levels but we'll see how it goes.
This is a fun way of leveling - none of the quests are even remotely challenging - the mobs are usually 1 shotable!
Updates will continue on my experiment! something tells me i should have started earlier!!

Raiding and Looting with Alts...
So last night the 25 man raid was cancelled due to lack of healers signed up, so one of the guildies put a run together for Zul'Aman.
The group formed and they needed 1 more dps so I said I'd come - So there I am, having to decide what level 70 to take:
Firelight - Fire doesn't need anything from there, he doesn't need badges for anything really.
Gwindle - Gwindle is Feral at the mo, and the group didnt need tanks.
Starslayer - This guy has just over 1000 spell damage and needed some badges to finally get rid of that off-hand he had from UBRS (*blush*)
So i asked if I could bring my 'lock and off we went - i grabbed some consumables from the AH and got summoned to the Instance.
First boss dropped some nice spell damage bracers which i won the roll for, but was suggested by our Raid Leader to let a main have them that needed them...so i did...
Another 2 bosses dropped suitable gear for my Warlock, and I gave it up for the mains that were there.
The question is - was it fair? Should I have stuck my neck out and said I wanted the gear as i was there doing as much work as the other guys...surely i deserved some rewards too?
We downed the last boss with ease with 9 people as one of the guys was locked out of the area and unable to participate...quite an achievement given the fact that there were a few alts in there.
I'm really hoping next week we can get back into Black Temple and clear the place to Mother Shiraz. Firelight now has all his shadow resistance gear and is ready to go in there and kick Mother's demonic butt!
